Cricket round-up: Shinfield win away at Crowthorne, Emmbrook and Bearwood storm to huge win

BCM Championship

WEST READING lost out to Ley Hill who confirmed their place as league champions.

Reading were all out on 144 before the visitors amassed 145 with two wickets to spare after 38.3 overs.

 

SHINFIELD took 35 points after their away performance at CROWTHORNE & CROWN WOOD.

Shinfield totalled a first innings score of 223 after Anurag Sukela hit 49 runs, while Jeff Cluett took three wickets.

Despite 41 from Anthony Cluett, three wickets each from Noel Joseph and Satish Patil secured the win for Shinfield.

CMB Premiership

EMMBROOK AND BEARWOOD enjoyed a big win over the Lee with a dominating performance

Choosing to bat first, The Bears started strongly and 70 from Andy Lazenbury was followed by 56 not out from Jack Narraway which helped the hosts finish with a score of 218.

They defended their total magnificently and Richard Cole and Andy Lazenbury both ended with four wickets each to their names.

The away team were all out for 64 which consolidated a convincing 154-run success for Emmbrook.

Emmbrook are second in the table, 18 points behind leaders Cadmore End with two games to play.

Chilterns Division Two

EMMBROOK AND BEARWOOD 2s lost out by 31 runs in a high scoring affair against Winchmore Hill.

The hosts set a huge total of 328 and the Bears got close with a solid batting display which saw Harry Ramset top score with 64, but they fell 31 runs short after they finished on 297-9.

Home Counties Division 2

WARGRAVE flew to a commanding 10 wicket win away at Tring Park.

After skittling the hosts out for 75 after an exceptional first innings display which saw Oliver Winterbottom collect five wickets, it took Wargrave just 8.2 overs to seal the match.

Opening partnership Rhys Lewis (40) and Sulaiman Javed (29) remained not out to guide their team to victory.

Wargrave are up to second with two games left to complete the campaign.

BCL Premier Division

SHINFIELD 2s are in third after they got the better of FARLEY HILL by 157 runs.

Shinfield scored 235 after Saksham Tyagi hit 86 runs.

Farley collapsed quickly after Pawan Tyagi (5-22) and Agastya Pothapragada (4-15) bowled brilliantly to help their team to victory.

 

SANDHURST lost out in their home match against Mortimer West End.

Dilupa Chandrasekara top scored for Sandhurst with 39 as they totalled 142, but Mortimer chased that down within 39.3 overs to win the game.

WEST READING 2s were beaten away at Stratfield Turgis.

 

WALTHAM ST LAWRENCE moved away from the bottom of the table after a 19-run triumph over Welford Park.

Yaunus Khan knocked an outstanding display at the crease which saw him total 144 not out to help Waltham hit 302, before they defended their score to take the points.

BCL Division 1A

READING UNITED are top of the table with two games in hand over their nearest challengers despite losing to Silchester.

85 from Manjith Palackal wasn’t enough for United to seal the points after they were just seven runs short of chasing down 220.

READING LIONS were defeated at home against Checkendon.

Trying to chase down 181 to take the match, Lions were bowled all out for 164.

EARLEY edged out WEST READING 3s by just eight runs to take 35 points.

Earley scored 161 before they were all out as Vish Shende top scored with 41.

Girish Nandwani collected five wickets to ensure that Earley sealed the match.
