STUDENTS, staff and alumni from the University of Reading are being recognised for their outstanding volunteering work.
People from across the town are nominating individuals ahead of the inaugural Celebration of Volunteering event, which will celebrate those who give their time to make a difference on campus and beyond.
The university and Reading University Students’ Union are calling for nominations in any of the following categories: fundraiser, community project, student project, staff volunteer, student volunteer and, alumni and supporter volunteer.
Nominations are open until midnight on Sunday, March 5, and can be made by anyone from the university or local community through an online form.
Molli Cleaver, community relations manager at the university, said: “The university is proud that so many people go above and beyond the call of duty through volunteering and we are excited to celebrate these individuals at this brand new event.”
The celebration event will be held at the Whiteknights campus on Thursday, April 27.
It will include an exhibition and series of videos showcasing the wide variety of volunteering opportunities that colleagues, students and alumni are involved in.
