The former offices of a leading computer company in Bracknell are set to be demolished to make way for new commercial buildings.
Dell House is situated in the Cain Road commercial area in urban Binfield, and used to serve as the European headquarters of the American computing business.
Built in the year 2000, the four-storey building served as offices for the company’s employees.
Dell vacated the offices in July 2022, with the site being purchased by real estate firms Blue Coast Capital and Jansons Property.
These companies are due to receive a verdict on their project to demolish Dell House.
The demolition plan is being considered by Bracknell Forest Council’s planning committee.
Planning officer Simon Roskilly has determined that the demolition requires prior approval from the council to go ahead.
That is because the complexities of the project require details to be submitted to the council.
These relate to the method of how the building will be demolished, which involves the use of high-reach equipment, excavators, and dumpers for the removal of waste.
A report by Mr Roskilly states Collins Demolition have been appointed as the contractor, with the work due to take place over a maximum of 10 weeks.
The verdict on the demolition plans will be made at the council’s planning meeting on Thursday, November 6.
You can view the application by typing reference 25/00619/DEM into the council’s planning portal.
The demolition would clear the way for the developers to build three new commercial buildings on the site, a plan which is under consideration, that can be found using reference 25/00066/FUL.
