PEOPLE looking to give a couple of hours a week to their community can drop in to a Volunteer Recruitment Fair in Wokingham this weekend.
The Wokingham Volunteer Centre says that September is a time of year that can open up residents’ calendars, as children start nursery, school, or leave to go to university.
People coming up to retirement may also be looking for new and different activities to explore, away from the world of work, that can make a real difference in the borough.
Volunteering, says the organisers, is a great way to make new friends and have fun, while giving something back to the community.
A variety of charities will be represented at the fair, with members ready to explain their organisation, and how people can get involved.
To find out more, people can drop in to the Volunteer Recruitment Fair at Wokingham Town Hall on Saturday, October 5.
Doors are open from 10am until 1pm.
