One Last Day – No Chemical

As well as building their local following with shows in Reading, Wokingham (a packed tent at the festival) and an excellent home town gig at Bracknell’s Acoustic Couch, these rockers have been going down well around the country and in Europe.

They have just released a new single and it’s another rock anthem with new band members, Connor Burt on drums and Huw Roch on bass providing a solid rhythm section for the rest of the band to add their guitars and synths overlayed with strong vocals and personal lyrics from Alex Wilcox that will certainly resonate with many – https://linktr.ee/onelastday

Pet Needs – Separation Anxiety

If anyone thinks punk is dead, they should check out this band.

Pet Needs proves that it is alive and well and as exciting as ever.

This is a great new single for the band from Colchester who tour extensively. They have already played in Reading twice this year, at the Face Bar in February for Independent Venue Week and at Are You Listening Festival in May.

They went down so well and so they are back for a third time on November 30 for a Reading Face Bar Club Velocity show – https://petneedsband.com/

Barbara – Master Narrative

It can be tough playing a support slot to an audience that has really come along to see the headliners.

Barbara have had that experience opening for 80’s legends Haircut 100 on their current tour.

However, the band made it look easy at Reading’s Hexagon as they won the crowd over immediately with their infectious pop melodies and stage presence.

The long queue after their set, to buy CDs and chat to the two brothers from Hove that lead the band certainly showed that they had picked up new fans.

Here’s their new single which is another piece of pop magic – https://linktr.ee/barbaratheband

Funke and the Two Tone Baby – Can’t Stop the Music

He performed a great set, at a Club Velocity Reading Show earlier this year and now this Kent-based artist has just released Reacclimate, a very strong album – https://funkeandthetwotonebaby.co.uk/

Mackenzie – Ordinary

Here’s a wonderful uplifting pop-rock anthem from a very talented musician from Reading – https://linktr.ee/Mackenzieofficial

Spriggan Mist – Kintbury Witch

Here’s an exciting new 10th anniversary re-recording of a song from the band’s Ghostly Tales’ album – https://www.sprigganmist.com/

Hayley Griffiths – Melanie

This is the title track from the album by an artist we saw at an excellent show on a road trip to Southampton’s The 1865 venue. They are, not too far away, at Guildford’s Electric Theatre on Saturday, March 2 – https://www.hayleygriffiths.com/

Our Hollow, Our Home – Downpour

Here’s the headliners of Reading Rising, this Saturday, November 18,, at Reading’s Face Bar – https://www.facebook.com/ourhollowourhome

Pinewall – You Didn’t Go Up There To Fish

A local band who are also at Reading Rising this Saturday and at The Couch, Bracknell, on Friday, December 15 – https://linktr.ee/pinewall

The Veras – Something to Say

It’s that band who bring the pysch pop sounds of the 60s right up to date as you can hear on this new single – https://theveras.co.uk/
