A front page photo from September 2020 has been recreated to mark the end of year 11 for ten sets of twins at Emmbrook school.
Five years ago, Wokingham.Today featured a story about the high number of twins joining the school on its front page.
The school also welcomes another set of twins during the five years.
The twins have now reached their final day before their exams.
Nick McSweeney, headteacher, said: “In my first assembly with a new year 7 intake, I always say that they will not believe how quickly secondary school passes by compared to primary school and, even knowing this so we myself,
“I still cannot believe that it has been five years since we took that first photo with those 10 pairs of twins.
“Back then the students were new to us and we were new to them; now we know each other so well! It has been an immense privilege to have seen these young people, and their non-twin peers, grow and mature and we are so incredibly proud of them.
Dee Taylor, head of year, added: “As I sit and reflect on this incredible year 11 cohort, I can’t help but feel emotional thinking about our amazing sets of twins.
“We started this journey together five years ago with ten brilliant pairs, and somewhere along the way we gained another in Joshua and Michael — making it 11 in total.
“Each and every one of them has brought something so unique and special to the year group, whether it’s through their sporting achievements, musical talents, quick wit, or even being our very own crochet queen, Ashlee.
“But what they all share is something far more powerful — they are some of the most hardworking, resilient, and respectful young people I’ve ever had the privilege to work with.
“It’s been an honour to walk alongside them and the rest of the cohort through this journey.
“I’ll miss them dearly — as I will the entire cohort — but I couldn’t be prouder of the people they’ve all become.”
