A Borough church invites everyone to its free family eco event in Wokingham.
All Saints Church on Wiltshire Road is holding an Earth Fayre that brings together green groups, charities and speakers to share their ideas and initiatives with visitors.
Organisers hope that the event will inspire people to explore ways to protect and enhance the environment.
Visitors can learn about a wide range of topics including better home insulation, and ways to reduce plastic use, while children can enjoy fun green activities and story times.
All Saints Church was recently awarded an EcoChurch Silver Award..
“As a church we are working hard to be environmentally friendly, said All saints Church associate priest Reverend Hannah Higginson.
“We want to take better care of our world.
“At one of our eco meetings we were chatting with each other about all the local green groups and initiatives we were aware of, and realised there were many that we hadn’t heard of.
“It made us want to create space to share them with the community and to get people involved.
“We really hope that people will be inspired by the Earth Fayre.
“We’re excited to welcome a range of local and national groups, including Extinction Rebellion.
“And with videos, stories, music, talks, and activities to explore, there really is something for everyone.”
Talks will take place at the following times:
10:30am – Why refillables?
11am – Sustainability in technology
11:30am – What we consume and its impact
12noon – Extinction Rebellion (XR) – A little less conversation, a little more action
12:30 – Singing interlude
1pm – Climate change in Berkshire: what the future has in store
1:30pm – Growing Places Berkshire
2pm – Youth Climate Action and Empowerment
