Members of Wokingham Borough Council’s licensing sub committee will be asked to approve an extension of hours for a Wokingham pub.
They will consider and determine an application from Spirit Pub Company (Services) Limited for a variation to a premises licence at Ye Olde Leathern Bottel, 221 Barkham Road in Wokingham.
The options available are to grant the application in full, grant subject to conditions, or reject the application.
The applicant has applied to amend the authorised timings for the sale of alcohol and opening of the premises.
It wants permission to supply alcohol (on- and off-sales) from 9am until midnight from Monday until Sunday.
Currently it has permission to sell from 11am until midnight from Monday until Saturday, and from midday until midnight on Sunday.
It also wants permission to sell alcohol overnight on New Year’s Eve until the start of permitted hours on New Year’s day.
During consultation, no objections were raised byThames Valley Police, Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue, Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Public Health, the Planning Authority, Local Safeguarding Children Board, and Home Office Immigration Enforcement. One representation was made by a person with concerns over noise and public nuisance arising from the proposed extension of hours for the sale of alcohol, and the opening of the premises throughout New Years Eve until commencement of permitted hours on New Year’s Day.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 27.
