One Wokingham street was left without Internet connectivity for more than a week, causing one resident to contact Wokingham Today for help.
Last Wednesday, Benn Heatley said: “Residents of Bowyer Crescent, and potentially further around the estate, who use City Fibre’s network have been without internet for over a week now.
“This is having a significant impact on people’s lives.”
He added that responses have been slow to non-existent, and we are seeing no activity on City Fibre’s part to attempt to communicate with residents or fix the problem.
“With all the disruption City Fibre is causing in the area to build their network, this lack of responsibility for those who have signed up is extremely frustrating and disappointing.”
In a statement, a spokesperson for City Fibre said: “We are aware of an outage which affected residents in Wokingham, and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“We can confirm this incident has now been remedied, with services restored, and we’d like to thank residents for their patience as we resolved this issue.
“In Wokingham, our full fibre roll-out is bringing the best available digital connectivity to the town.
“This means replacing slower and less reliable legacy infrastructure with full fibre, which offers consistently higher speeds and reliability, meaning outages such as this are a rarer occurrence.
“We would advise any customers experiencing issues to report these directly to their Internet service provider, who we are in constant communication with to ensure any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.”
