Scenes for a new Avengers film could be shot in Bracknell Forest, plans submitted by Marvel to a council reveal.
The film production company has applied for planning permission for a film set in Windsor Great Park spanning the boundary between Bracknell Forest and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
Plans say the set – a house with pavement and road markings – would be built on the Bracknell Forest side of the boundary and that it’s expected that ‘filming will only take place on one day in August’.
The plans were submitted by Marvel-owned company For All Time Productions UK to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, which has already granted it planning permission for another set nearby.
Entertainment news websites say the name ‘For All Time’ is a phrase associated with Marvel character Loki, and have speculated that the firm was set up as the production company for the coming film Avengers: Doomsday.
Plans included with the application say a house – referred to as ‘Annie Reynold’s house’ – would be built by Prince Consort’s Drive, near the Windsor Great Park Environmental Centre.
Annie Reynolds is the name of a Marvel character whose reported appearance in the film was revealed in a recent leak.
Marvel wants temporary planning permission for ten weeks between July 14 and September 20 to allow for the set to be constructed and taken down again.
A larger ‘service pad’ for filming equipment and vehicles would be built over the boundary in the Royal Borough.
A planning statement submitted with the application says that the company has not yet applied to Bracknell Forest Council for planning permission as the larger site lies within the Royal Borough.
However it says that Marvel has sent a copy of its application to Bracknell Forest Council.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has already granted Marvel temporary planning permission for another set, further west on Duke’s Lane.
Royal Borough councillors agreed that the temporary harm to the green belt caused by the set would be outweighed by the economic benefits brought by filming.
The planning statement claims that the new location has been chosen ‘in order to ensure minimum impact on the surrounding natural environment within the park’.
It claims that the work ‘will not impact upon other users of Windsor Great Park’.
The statement also says that during filming there will be up to 300 people on site, but that this will only be for one day.
It says: “Whilst a higher level of traffic movement will be experienced on this filming day, this level of activity is not expected to give rise to any unacceptable highway safety or capacity concerns due to the type and capacity of the local road network within the park.”
The plans were submitted to the Royal Borough on May 30 and are pending consideration.
