Two five-year-old children have been injured following an incident in Earley this afternoon.
An Air Ambulance was called to Silverdale Road after a car reversed into the children, trapping them against a phone booth.
One of the children sustained serious leg injuries and was flown to Oxford for treatment, while the other has arm injuries and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service told The Wokingham Paper: “We were called at 15.33 after a car had reversed into two five-year-old children pinning them against a telephone box.
“We sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, two officers and the air ambulance with a doctor on board to the scene.
“The doctor treated both children at the scene, after which one child with serious leg injuries was flown to the major trauma centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, and the second child with an arm injury was taken by road to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.”
