A former Team GB judo athlete has been convicted on one count of controlling and coercive behaviour after a jury at Reading Crown Court heard how he threatened to bury his ex-girlfriend’s children.
Frazer Chamberlain, 33, appeared at Reading Crown Court where the jury were told of his controlling relationship with Katie Snow, where they lived together in Wokingham.
Following a two week trial, the jury found him to be guilty after his former partner gave evidence that Chamberlain set up cameras in her bedroom and kitchen, monitored phone calls and checked her spending.
The court also heard how he would dictate to his partner what she could and couldn’t wear and how he would monitor her social media accounts, ordering her to delete any contact with other men.
The defendant also told Ms Snow that if she was to leave him or cheat on him that he would “bury her, bury her kids, stab the social worker, stab her mother.”
The judge informed Chamberlain that he is free on bail and he would not be sentenced until May 2 at Reading Crown Court.
