A former leader of Wokingham Borough Council will stand as the Reform candidate for the Henley ward on Oxfordshire County Council.
John Halsall from Remenham was the Conservative leader of the council from 2019 until 2022.
He represented Remenham, Wargrave and Ruscombe — now Thames ward — but stood down to stand in the general election as the Reform candidate for the Beaconsfield constituency.
The election will take place on May 1. One candidate he will face is the Olympic two-time rowing gold medalist James Cracknell, who is representing the Conservative party.
