Bus passengers will be able to enjoy free festive bus travel in Berkshire on selected dates this month.
Carousel Buses is providing complimentary bus journeys in Slough, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and Wokingham, following the popularity of previous free bus travel initiatives.
The scheme is designed to help people get into the holiday spirit and provide a boost to town centres. Whether you’re exploring Christmas lights across the county, shopping locally, or travelling to visit family and friends throughout the festive season, the offer makes it easier and more sustainable to get around.
In collaboration with Slough Borough Council, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and Wokingham Borough Council, free bus journeys will be offered across these areas all day on Saturday 13, and 20. Free travel will also be offered in Wokingham on Sunday 14 and 21.
The offer means passengers can board any bus from a participating operator in these areas, regardless of where you’re going, and travel for free. If you’re returning from an area which isn’t offering free travel, such as Buckinghamshire or Greater London, you’ll need to pay for your return journey.
Luke Marion, managing director of Carousel Buses, said: “Christmas is a time for thinking of others and giving back, so I’m delighted we’re able to offer free travel this month to help people get around.
“Whether you’re Christmas shopping or meeting up with friends or family, you can makeuse of this fantastic offer.
“Travelling by bus is cost-effective and healthier for the environment, and I’d like to thank our partner local authorities for their involvement in this collaboration.”
