Before turning 40, he has successfully established not just one, but two plumbing and heating businesses. His first venture, WRM, was a trusted and successful reactive service provider. Despite its success, in 2021, Will decided to take a bold step by shifting the business model and rebranding as SecureHeat, focusing on providing annual plumbing and heating cover.
When asked about the motivation behind this change, Will explained, “The honest answer? It was a moral decision. I saw people paying £50 to £60 a month for cover, plus potential excess fees with national providers, only to find out that they weren’t covered for areas they thought they were. I often found myself stepping in to resolve their issues, but at an additional cost to them.”
He continued, “I realised that if I could bring WRM’s core values of honesty, integrity, expertise, and reliability into the cover market, I could offer a more comprehensive, local service that truly meets everyone’s needs.”
Addressing the challenges he faces, Will noted, “The biggest hurdle is convincing people that a smaller, local company can match the responsiveness of larger national providers. But the truth is, being small makes us more agile, deeply invested, and with a lot more at stake. I would love the opportunity to prove to Wokingham residents that local is best.”
