Just three options now remain for the future location of the headquarters of Wokingham Borough Council.
.It was agreed to review the current headquarters at Shute End in 2023, including investigation options for refurbishment or moving to an alternative location.
Following last week’s meeting of the executive, Three options will be taken forward. These are:

a full refurbishment of the existing Shute End offices in Wokingham.

relocation to 28-38 Peach Street in Wokingham.

identifying a new leasehold or freehold property within Wokingham Borough.
Previous options have now been discounted, including relocating to Mulberry Business Park in Wokingham, the former library on Denmark Street and a minimal refurbishment of Shute End.
There is no ‘do nothing’ option.

The preferred options will now be further assessed, including looking at future workforce requirements, and any impacts of the Local Government Review proposals.
