SONNING’S relegation fears were heightened after a 3-1 defeat to South Clubs’ Women’s Division 3A leaders Oxford.

Floor Timmer and Beth Williamson were among the scorers for Oxford to leave Sonning second from bottom of the table.

They now have a big weekend ahead to try and haul themselves up the table with a trip to Reading 3s before hosting Milton Keynes on Sunday at Sonning Lane.

SOUTH BERKSHIRE are up to third in Trysports Premier 1 after a 0-0 draw at Oxford Hawks 3s while SONNING 2s also drew, 2-2 at home to Maidenhead 2s.

In Premier 2, SOUTH BERKSHIRE 2s slipped into relegation trouble after a 1-0 loss at home to Amersham and Chalfont 2s.

Sandra Dodington and Sofia Reina found the net to help SOUTH BERKSHIRE 3s to a comfortable 4-0 win over Harlow-High Wycombe in Division 3.

Elsewhere, SONNING 4s drew and SONNING VETERANS were beaten.

On the men’s side, SOUTH BERKSHIRE’S struggles continued with a 3-1 home defeat to Oxford 2s.

Despite Tom King netting his 10th goal of the season, Berks fell to a third straight loss which leaves them fifth in the MBBO Regional 2 table.

Goals from Peter Mitchell and Callum Richardson helped SONNING 2s to a 2-2 draw against Henley 2s to edge further clear of the Division 1 relegation zone.

In Division 2, a Paul Kaplanski brace guided SOUTH BERKSHIRE 2s to a 3-2 win at Windsor with Ashley Stratton also on target.

Tom Pullen netted a hat-trick as SOUTH BERKSHIRE 3s saw off Banbury 3s 5-3 in Division 3. Ashley Holden and Adrian King also scored as Berks move up to eighth.

In the same league, SONNING 3s were beaten 4-1 by Oxford 3s, despite a goal from Jacob Cowper.

Lower down the divisions, SONNING 4s drew, the 5s lost and SOUTH BERKSHIRE TERRIERS eased to a win.
