We’re now days away from Wokingham Festival – and Reading Festival for that matter.

So it’s little surprise that we’re whetting your appetite this week with three new entries that will all be on the bill.

The line-up for the three-day event is amazing, and if you haven’t got plans for August bank holiday, we think you’ll love this.

You can tune in to our playlist for free. It’s on Spotify and is a great way to discover bands with a connection to Reading or Wokingham.

To hear this week’s selection, simply head to https://bit.ly/rawsoundstodayand enjoy the music.

There is also a Facebook page and group chat that bands and music fans can tap into. You can search for RaW Sounds Today and it will come up.

Kyros – Illusions inside

Kyros are certainly building quite a reputation for their innovative sound which combines eighties pop elements alongside modern progressive rock sounds.

They have just released this new single on our locally based White Star Records label and they will be at Wokingham Festival on Monday, August 28.

The single is another of their complex but accessible songs and you won’t want to miss seeing these impressive and exciting musicians playing live at the festival – https://www.kyrosmusic.com/

Cities in Dust – The Other Son

Here’s a band from the local area that combine psychedelic electronica and indie rock to create some unique music. OSP – Call Me

OSP were one of the highlights of the Wokingham Music Club Stage at Wokingham Festival last year. This Reading based rap collective won over the crowd with their infectious energetic set. They were so good that they were asked back this year to appear on the main stage on the Sunday afternoon (August 27) so, to get us in the mood for that, here’s one of their impressive single releases – https://www.facebook.com/ospmusicuk/

Victoria Canal – Shape

Sitting in the impressive grounds of Englefield House on an early Sunday evening listening to the beautiful sounds of Victoria and her accompanying musicians recently was a truly wonderful experience – https://www.victoriacanal.com/

Hozier – Eat Your Young

Hozier and his band of excellent musicians were just stunning headlining at Englefield House. This single is from his new album, Unreal Unearth which is released on August 18 – https://hozier.com/

Far From Saints – Faded Black Tattoo

Following a brilliant performance at the Hozier Englefield House show this band which features the talents of Kelly Jones from Stereophonics with Patty Lynn and Dwight Baker from The Wind and the Wave will return to Reading when they appear at The Hexagon on November 25 – https://farfromsaintsband.com/

Rila’s Edge – The End

Another in this Wokingham-based bands stream of brilliant singles. We can’t wait to see them live at Wokingham Festival when they headline the Wokingham Music Club Stage on Sunday, August 27 – https://www.rilasedge.com/

Cold Blooded Hearts – Worth Waiting

A single from the band led by local resident and QPR manager, Gareth Ainsworth. This is from the band’s debut album, The Cold Light of Day, which is out now – https://www.cherryred.co.uk/artist/the-cold-blooded-hearts/
