A WOKINGHAM women’s group will be discussing brims, peaks and crowns at their next meeting.
Wokingham Afternoon WI will hear a talk by visiting speaker Sophie Fryer, about couture millinery, its history and why its pieces are different from mass-produced hats..
Called ‘Hats Off to Millinery’ the talk will be rounded off with tea, coffee, and cake, and a chance to ask questions – and try on some hats.
“We’re a friendly and welcoming organisation run by and for our members,” said speaker secretary Ann Ogston.
“We have interesting speakers, demonstrations or activities at each meeting, and time to chat.
“Visitors and prospective members are always very welcome to join us,”
The group meets at St Paul’s Parish Rooms, on Reading Road, on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at 1.45pm for a 2pm start.
Their next event is on Tuesday, February 25.
