RESIDENTS in the borough are being asked for their views for charging for services under the Care Act 2014.
The act introduces new rights for support carers and people funding their own care and support. People who can afford to pay for their own care can ask Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) to provide services on their own behalf but the council says it will not profit from any charges.
It also means that while more people will be able to access support, they may be asked to pay or contribute to the cost.
WBC has created an on-line survey to understand how people in the borough feel. Residents are invited to read the consultation leaflet and then use the on-line form to add their views.
The survey should be completed by May 5, 2015.
