A HEALTHCARE worker at the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has been presented with one of the top awards the NHS can give out.
Jordan Herrington has been presented with the NHS England Chief Nursing Officer Healthcare Support Worker Award.
This is given to people who consistently demonstrate NHS values and behaviours when fulfilling their everyday roles to provide excellent patient care.
He was nominated by a colleague who commended him for going above and beyond in his role to support patients, carers, and other members of staff. His team remarked on how he was positive, enthusiastic, and committed to achieving quality care and quality improvement on the ward, as well as holding an excellent work ethic.
Debbie Fulton, Director of Nursing and Therapies at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, was thrilled to see Mr Herrington receive the award.
“Healthcare support workers play a really important role in caring for our patients and supporting our clinical teams,” she said.
“Jordan’s team loves working with him, and his care for all is evident in every action he takes. It’s brilliant to see a member of our Trust recognised and celebrated for the vital work they do – well done Jordan.”
Mr Herrington was grateful to his colleagues for nominating him.
“It is an absolute honour to receive this award and I am so thankful to the fantastic nursing team on Bluebell Ward at Prospect Park Hospital for being true inspirations and mentors,” he said.
“It fills me with a great sense of wellbeing to look back on the work I have done and the people I have helped, knowing I have made a difference to the lives of those in our care.
“I am lucky to work with a team that promotes personal and professional development and encourages me to be the best that I can.
“This award will be a reminder to myself that our dedication and resilience does amazing things for people, and I will wear it with pride.”
