Several readers have contacted Wokingham Today to explain their unhappiness about a more than 10% rise in charges to park at Wokingham railway station this week.
One driver said the charges have risen from £9.20 to £10.10 – more than 10% – on Monday without warning.
Another said he would be looking at parking elsewhere as the cost was now unaffordable to him.
In a statement to Wokingham Today, a spokesperson for South West Railway, who operate the car park, said: “As with other car park providers, all train operators regularly review their car park tariffs.
“On Sunday, February 1, following a two-and-a-half-year freeze on prices, we introduced new tariffs. In that same period, on-street parking and car park prices across Berkshire have also changed.
“The changes to our parking tariffs have been available on our website since January.”
