A GROUP that lets people with visual impairments enjoy the sport of bowling has seen one of its key players honoured.
Last month, Keith Hutchings, the president of Wokingham Bowling Club, was awarded a trophy in recognition of his service to the sport by Wokingham Borough Council.
It was presented by Nigel King, chairman of Wokingham Borough Sports Council, and Stan Bembenek, from sponsors BT 2000.
The group meets every Thursday at Wokingham Bowling Club on Reading Road, Wokingham. Sessions run from 9.30am to 12.30pm, and is open to people who are blind or sight impaired, and their carers.
During the summer, the game is played outside, while in the winter they use a short mat inside.
The club says it welcomes new members, with no experience necessary. It promises a warm welcome and refreshments.
