Traffic was sent down Old Forest Road and Emmbrook Road as a diversion.
Thames Valley Police said in a tweet: “Our priority is to the safe management of the scene and emergency services in attendance.”
Traffic is heavy as a result and bus services have also been delayed.
Reading Buses said that because of the fire and the road closure, the Lion 4/X4 buses are unable to serve stops between Showcase Roundabout and Wokingham Station.
Courtney Buses are diverting the 128 towards Wokingham through Hurst Pond.
We will bring you more information when we have it.
