A BOROUGH charity is attempting to find out how many elves can fit into the Reading Minster this Christmas.
Parents And Children Together (PACT) is hosting a family-friendly carol concert to support children, women and families affected by trauma, and encourages people to arrive in costume.
Carols at the Minster invites children (and adults) to dress up as an elf if they wish, to enjoy performances from a number of borough choirs.
Music groups will include PACT Christmas Choir, Universal Voices (Reading University children’s community choir), Thames Valley Gay Chorus, Out of the Blue, Pianist Nolan Chenchery.
Compere for the evening will be chief elf, Rosie.
PACT Chief Executive Natausha van Vliet said: “This year’s Carols at the Minster promises to be a fun-packed start to this year’s festive season.
“This is such an important event for us – a time for the community to come together and celebrate while supporting the crucial work PACT does every day with children, families and women affected by trauma.
“We are grateful to the team at the Minster, all the performers for supporting our work and to all who join us to help make this such a great event.
“I can’t wait to see everyone.”
PACT, founded in 1911, creates families through adoption services and provides lifelong adoption support.
It also empowers women who face multiple disadvantages to make positive changes to their lives through its Alana House community project, while its Bounce Back 4 Kids programme supports children to heal from the trauma of domestic abuse.
The charity’s elf-themed event will take place at Reading’s Reading Minster, on Saturday December 7.
Doors open at 3pm, with refreshments, and entertainment from Magician, Kye Harmsworth, and at 4pm the carol concert will begin.
Tickets cost £12 for adults and £3 for children.
A family ticket for one adult and two children can be purchased for £16, or for two adults and two children it costs £26.
All are welcome.
