A huge development of more than 700 homes and a primary school has finally been completed north of Bracknell.
Woodhurst Park is a development of 788 homes by building company the Berkeley Group situated north of Harvest Ride in Warfield.
Of those, 115 homes are designated affordable.
Groundbreaking for the project began in 2015. A decade later, Woodhurst Park has been completed with the final home due to be handed over this month.
Residents live in walking distance from the Cabbage Hill nature park, which was created in the development, and Garth Meadows, which are nearby.
The project also involved building a new campus for the Warfield Church of England Primary School in Sopwith Road, which opened in 2016.
Following changing demographics, the board of governors decided to close its original school in All Saints Rise in 2022.
The school has operated as a two-form entry at the Sopwith Road site since then.
Additionally, a 65-bed extra care facility was built, and the new Quelm Allotments were established with access from Watersplash Lane.
Berkeley Group has claimed that it has worked with Bracknell Forest Council, Warfield Parish Council, Warfield C of E Primary School, construction professionals, and the community itself throughout.
Celebrating the completion of the development, Elkie Russell, Managing Director, Berkeley Homes, Oxford & Chilterns commented: “Woodhurst Park represents everything we believe in – and people and community were central to our vision from the start.
“We set out to create a place where people would want to live for the long term, where children can grow up surrounded by nature, and where neighbours feel connected.
“We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved here and of the community that has grown alongside the homes and open spaces.”
The company also stated that its vision for Woodhurst Park was a carefully considered community plan – shaping the homes, landscaping, amenities, and shared spaces to foster a strong, enduring sense of community.
Berkeley claims that this vision was brought to life through regular events and activities designed to encourage residents to connect, engage, and build lasting relationships.
The Woodhurst Park site is bounded by Harvest Ride, Binfield Road, Forest Road and Newell Green was allocated for development under the council’s previous Local Plan.
