Reading FC boss Ruben Selles admitted that he may not ‘survive’ another year if there continues to be chaos at the club.
After all the turmoil under the ownership of Dai Yongge, fans are hoping for a more stable future after the club agreed exclusivity with the view of a takeover being completed in the coming weeks.
When asked whether he would like to stay at the club under new ownership next season, Selles said: “Yes of course. I’ve always said that I’ve got two more years (on contract) and the year has shown how we can do things and makes us more mature as a team.
“If we can continue with some calmness the next year can be a year we can play some football and a target to make as many points as we can.
“I would like to stay if the conditions are proper.”
Despite admitting his preference to stay, Selles did admit that he has some doubts whether he could cope with another year of chaos at the club.
He continued: “But I don’t know if I can survive another year if all those things happen again to be completely honest with you.
“Knowing how difficult it has been, I don’t think it’s fair for me, I don’t think it’s fair for my family, I don’t think it’s fair to the players or fair for the fans.
“That will be a big question for me whether I have the energy. That is my feeling right now.”
