RESIDENTS can get things fixed for free by expert menders.
Spencers Wood Repair Cafe has a team ready to give a new lease of life to broken household and garden items in an attempt to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
They will accept all sorts of items for repair, including broken china, toasters, and toys.
The group prides itself on its friendly welcome, with refreshments available from their cafe.
There is no charge for fixing, but the group gratefully accepts donations.
Billie Bachra, founder of the repair cafe, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to look at your children’s uniforms to see if they fit, and their school bags to check they are functional.
“Oh and their bikes…
“We also do tool sharpening, fix lawn mowers, vacuum cleaners, jewellery, ceramics, household mechanical and electrical items.
“A warm welcome awaits.”
The repair cafe meets regularly on the third Sunday of each month.
The next event is at Lambs Lane Primary School, on Sunday, August 17.
Doors are open from 10am until 1pm.
