On Monday, February 18, The Woodley Women’s Club celebrated its 60th Birthday with a wonderful party.
This was held at the Sonning Golf Club where we enjoyed a delicious two course meal, followed by coffee and mints.
Being as it was the club’s 60th Birthday, our theme was Diamonds and as usual, our members supported this theme by wearing all their Glitter and Sparkly accessories.
During the evening we were entertained by The Big River Duo, a group who has performed at our Birthday Parties before.
Once again they had us up dancing by playing not only the usual party songs, but also songs from the 60s and 70s, songs which we could all sing along with.
Then it was time to cut the cake.
This was done by two of our founder members, Pat Chable and Sheila Mansell, surrounded by our Committee.
Then it was time for the raffle to be drawn with lots of lovely prizes to be won.
Thanks was then given to all committee members for their hard work organising the party, before we headed for home looking forward to next year’s party.
Once again the evening proved what an excellent club this is and why we still have such a large membership even after all these years.
