WHEN a visitor from Woodley Food Bank came to speak to the members of The Inner Wheel club of Reading Maiden Erlegh, he was perhaps expecting to see some Christmas decorations up.
What Richard Davies didn’t realise was that donated items for the food bank had also been turned into a festive display.
The Inner Wheel club invited Richard to speak at their November meeting, and keen to support Woodley Food Bank, its members brought along many items for him to take back with him.
The food donations had been fashioned into a tree, which the members had then decorated with Christmas baubles for the event.
After Richard’s talk, the food was taken to be distributed to families in the Woodley and surrounding areas experiencing financial hardship.
Reading Maiden Erlegh Inner Wheel meets on the third Thursday of the month at Sonning Golf Club.
