Shoppers in Woodley will still be able to withdraw cash once Lloyds bank in the town closes..
Lloyds has announced its bank in Crockhamwell Road will close on Wednesday, June 17.
This has led to concerns that customers will lose access to banking services, including cash withdrawals.
LINK, the organisation that coordinates cash access in the UK and supports the creation of a banking hub, has conducted an assessment of the ATMs available in Woodley.
People have access to ATMs at the Nationwide in Crockhamwell Road, the post offices in Crockhamwell Road, Brecon Road and Wheelers Green, and other locations in the area.
A spokesperson said: “LINK assessed the cash needs of Woodley in February 2026 following the announcement of the Lloyds branch closure.
“Our review confirmed that the Nationwide branch, three Post Offices and five free-to-use ATMs within one mile of the town centre continue to provide suitable cash access for residents and businesses.
“The full assessment is available on our website.”
The other ATMs are located at fuel stations and convenience stores in the town.
Because of this, It declined to support an application for a banking hub in the town.
Residents and retailers are being asked to sign a petition in support of an appeal to ask LINK to provide a banking hub in Woodley.
They are available to sign at most businesses in the town.
An application for a similar banking hub for Wokingham, supported by Wokingham Today, was also declined last year.
