Pauline Jorgensen, the leader of the Conservative group on Wokingham Borough Council, has issued a call for the Labour MP for Earley and Woodley, Yuan Yang, to publish any communications she’s had with her government colleagues regarding the matter.
She noted that on Friday (September 20), the Labour government published the terms of reference for the review of the new hospitals programme.
She said: “Given the terms of reference have been published in silence, on a Friday afternoon, and ahead of Labour Party Conference, I imagine it will be an open and shut review, aimed at shutting down a Conservative Party initiative to build 40 new hospitals across the country, whilst at the same time giving bumper pay deals to their union friends.
“The Royal Berks Hospital has been named in scope for the review, so will be under threat – if it has not already been cancelled – by the chancellor and the health secretary.
“Much like the promises she made around the Royal Berks Hospital, Yuan Yang MP has gone missing since the election.
“I call on her to respond to my open letter from July 30 regarding the Royal Berks Hospital, and to publish any communications she has had with the chancellor, and her colleagues in the Labour government, regarding the Royal Berks Hospital, and prove to the people of Earley and Woodley that she is actually working on their behalf.”
