Wokingham borough mayor draws winners of fundraiser
FOR some people it’s all about the luck of the draw and for 10 winners of a charity raffle, they know just how true that saying is.
The 10 all have borough mayor Cllr John Kaiser to thank: he drew the winning names from a tombola for the Me2 Club’s summer charity raffle.
The organisation is his charity of the year and he was delighted to be on hand to draw the winners.
Top prize was a £150 voucher for John Lewis, with a two-night hotel break for two the second prize. Raffle sponsors KJS Solicitors donated the third prize: a will for two people.
Other prizes included garden furniture, a digital radio, an iTunes voucher, a portable vinyl record player and tickets to Woodley Theatre.
Cllr Kaiser drew the winning tickets watched by Me2 Club staff, volunteers, a trustee and parents, and a team from KJS Solicitors.

Liz McDaniel, Me2 Club’s fundraising development officer, said: “We are delighted that the raffle has raised the fantastic sum of £1,060.
Thank you to everyone who supported us with buying raffle tickets and donating prizes – including John Lewis, KJS Solicitors, Ella’s Kitchen, Woodley Theatre and John Nike Leisuresport.
“Congratulations to all the winners who can be found on our website.
“We are looking forward to thanking them in person when the prizes are given out.”
