A MAN had his ankle dislocated during a savage late-night attack in Wokingham town centre.
Now police are appealing for witnesses to the assault.
The 44-year-old was walking with a friend towards Wokingham’s railway station when the incident took place around 1am on Sunday, March 10.
Thames Valley Police said that he was approached by his attacker as he passed The Station Tap pub – formerly The Molly Millar – and was punched, causing him to fall to the ground.
Police added that the victim was left with a broken bone and a dislocated ankle. He was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he required surgery and is now recovering at home.
The offender is described as white, 6ft tall and aged 25 to 30 years old. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark-coloured jacket.
Investigating officer PC Lucy Williams, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this assault in which the victim was punched by a man in a seemingly unprovoked attack.
“A punch caused the victim to fall in such a manner that he injured his leg. If you have any information about what happened or who is responsible, please contact police.”
