A BOROUGH gardening club will be filling a church hall with spring blossoms and produce this month.
With the growing season now under way Wokingham Horticultural Association (WHA) promises a colourful display of early blooms and produce, with prizes for winning growers, bakers, photographers, makers, and flower arrangers.
WHA holds shows throughout the year, giving its members an opportunity to compete against each other in a wide range of categories, including for gardening novices.
And with classes for young exhibitors (year 3 and under), and (years 4 to 11), there’s something for everyone.
The club runs a trading store for its members twice a week, social opportunities throughout the year, and opportunities to share gardening tips.
A craft group meets every Wednesday, and members can enjoy visits to RHS gardens as part of a programme of activities and events.
Whether interested in roses and dahlias, or fruit or vegetables, WHA says people will find like-minded gardeners willing to share their enthusiasm and knowledge.
The association’s Spring Show will take place at St Paul’s Parish Rooms, Wokingham, on Saturday, March 21.
Doors open to the public from 2pm until 4pm, with prize giving at 3.45pm.
Admission costs £2 for adults, and is free for children.
