To coincide with its seventh birthday, The Lexicon has opened The Lexicon Charity Fund for applications from charitable causes, community groups, sporting clubs and PTAs within the borough of Bracknell Forest.
The fund is managed in conjunction with Berkshire Community Foundation, an independent charity that connects local people with local causes and projects.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon said: “This wouldn’t be possible without the support of the local community who have donated money via activities such as riding on The Lexicon Express and The Lexicon Half Marathon.
“A huge thank you to you all.”
Previous recipients of The Lexicon Charity Fund grants include:
Stepping Stones to boost their educational outreach to mainstream and special needs primary and secondary schools.
Age Concern Bracknell Forest to purchase ‘Activitouch’ interactive tables for its Day Centre.
Meadow Vale Primary PTA for a pond regeneration project
Grants are available for sums between £500 and £5,000.
Jon Yates, chief executive at Berkshire Community Foundation said: “Other than needing to be a locally-based community, PTA or charitable group, the scope covered by The Lexicon Charity Fund is extremely wide.
“If you are part of a community group that, for example, needs some new sports equipment, is looking to activate an environmental project, or perhaps wants to train new volunteers, then make sure you enter before the deadline [July 9 2024].”
