Wokingham’s Liberal Democrats have acted quickly to thank the people of Wokingham for electing Clive Jones as the new member of parliament in an unusual way.
Councillor Mark Ashwell, who is also managing director of Trademark Windows, arranged for one of his company vehicles to be painted with a ‘Thank you Wokingham’ message, along with a photo of Clive Jones.
Mark told Wokingham Today: “I’d arranged for the van to be made available, and I had a sign writer on standby – ready to start on Friday morning once the result of the election was known.
“It’s a ‘Flying the Flag’ victory tour.”
He also expressed his thanks to A-Star Signs in Finchampstead for their prompt work.
The van has already been sighted throughout the Wokingham constituency, as the party is using it to collect its election paraphernalia, including its stake boards.
