A CHURCH in Woodley now has a publicly-accessible defibrillator thanks to the work of a local charity.
The Lilly-May Page Foundation, which is part of the Arrhythmia Alliance, donated the life-saving equipment to Emmanuel Church, in Southlake Crescent, on Saturday (10) to be made available to the public 24 hours a day.
The cabinet in which the defibrillator will be kept was purchased and installed thanks to money raised by the Woodley and Earley Lions Club.
Claire Page, whose daughter Lilly-May tragically collapsed and died at the age of five in May 2014, said she was thrilled to have a defibrillator installed at the church.
Ms Page said: “This is the first defibrillator from the Lilly-May Page fund. It has total public access and is in my home-town, which is fantastic.”
