A Shinfield street geared up for Christmas last weekend with the grand switch-on of its festive light display.
Liam Murray, who has been designated as ‘Chief Elf’ for coordinating what has become an annual event in Maybank, was extremely pleased that more than 350 people attended.
He said: “This was the seventh year of the lights, and the fourth where we have raised money for charities.”
Sunday’s event raised more than £600, adding to the more than £4,000 collected in previous years.
The charities set to benefit this year are the NSPCC and The Lily Foundation.
