A WOKINGHAM charity that supports older isolated people by linking them up with a regular visitor, will celebrate 25 years of volunteering this month.
The Link Visiting Scheme is hosting an event to celebrate, and to thank their volunteer supporters.
Wokingham Borough mayor, Cllr Beth Rowland will attend to acknowledge the team of more than 400 people who regularly give up their time to visit lonely and isolated people in the borough.
Providing one to one contact, the volunteers offer friendship and support to those who would otherwise receive few visitors.
As well as visiting, Link volunteers support the charity’s projects, which include: Link Online, Link to Nature, and Community Kitchen.
The organisation will meet to celebrate at Wokingham Cricket Club, on Sunday, June 25.
