A RESIDENT and driver both had lucky escapes last night when a vehicle ploughed into a house in Wokingham.
A crew from Wokingham Fire Station joined the police and an ambulance officer at an address in Budge’s Road just after 11pm on Tuesday following reports a Peugeot had lost control and ended up on the front lawn of a residential property.
Firefighters spent around 40 minutes making the vehicle safe and disconnecting the battery wires, while both the driver, a female, and an occupant of the house were treated at the scene for shock – but neither suffered any significant injuries.
Apart from a slight issue with a drainpipe, there was no serious structural damage to the house.
However, upon leaving the road the car struck another two stationary vehicles, which are both understood to have been declared a write-off.
More on this to follow.
