Lucy Alexandra Jones – 5 October 1937 to 6 February 2026
Lucy Alexandra Jones sadly passed away at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey, on 6 February 2026, aged 88.
Over three and a half years ago Lucy underwent major surgery, after which she came to live at Camberley Manor Care Home. During her time there she worked hard to regain her strength and to continue enjoying life as much as she possibly could.
Lucy had always been someone who loved to keep busy and to make the most of each day. When living at home she took great pleasure in tending her plants and garden. At Camberley Manor she particularly enjoyed driving her electric wheelchair around the gardens, taking time to look at the flowers, the plants and the fish in the pond, something that reflected her lifelong love of nature.
Lucy lived a full and varied life. She kept it quiet that she was an accomplished long-rifle marksman who won numerous shooting trophies over the years. She also travelled widely as a military wife alongside her beloved husband Carl during his Army career, experiences she greatly loved.
Above all, Lucy was devoted to her family and took enormous pleasure in seeing it grow through the generations.
Lucy leaves her children Esther, Mark, Phillip and Cindy, nine grandchildren (Shehrina, Carl, Natasha, Jessica, Adam, Elisabeth, Jacob, Joseph and Jasmine-Mae) and nine great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral Service on Tuesday 24 March at 11:30am at St Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Twyford followed by interment at St. Sebastian’s Cemetery, Heathlands Road, Wokingham.
Family flowers only please but donations, if desired, may be made to Missio – Mill Hill, a Christian missionary charity that Lucy supported for many years. Online donations via abwalker.co.uk/funeral/lucyalexandrajones
