POLICE have closed a major route through Woodley today due to a road traffic collision.
The incident happened around 11am on Thursday, April 18.
Full details have yet to be released, but Wokingham Today understands that the emergency services are awaiting a rescue vehicle to appear and the road should be reopened by early afternoon.
A closure is in place on Loddon Bridge Road at its bridge under the railway and the A329m.
This affects traffic trying to turn into Loddon Bridge Road from Wokingham Road at Winnersh – its junction by The George pub.
It also affects traffic trying to get to the junction from Loddon Bridge Road.
Police have a roadblock in place and is directing traffic away from the junction with Coppice Road.
It is understood that two vehicles are involved.
The bridge has a height restriction of 3.6m and is a narrow width to accommodate footpaths.
