A MAN is in a life-threatening condition after he was hit by a train near Crowthorne earlier this morning.
The incident, which police say is not being treated as suspicious, happened close to Crowthorne Train Station at approximately 6.14am.
It has also been confirmed the casualty is a 29-year-old man, who was taken to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service.
The line had been closed until 8am, meaning Great Western Railway services between Wokingham, Guildford and Gatwick Airport were subject to delays or alterations.
Passengers had been advised to seek alternative routes, with both South West Trains and Southern Trains accepting tickets on all reasonable routes via Ascot and Clapham Junction.
First Buses on the X25 route between Reading and Heathrow Airport are also accepting travel passes. These are also valid on London Underground between London Paddington and Victoria, too.
Such delays have begun to subside, although residual delays of up to 20 minutes to some services are expected until around 11am.
