A MAN in his 60s from Whistley Green has died after suffering suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
The man and a woman, also in her 60s, were discovered at their home in Lodge Road yesterday (Thursday) morning around 8am by a family member and a child.
Ambulance crews, including the air ambulance, fire crews from Wokingham and Whitley Wood stations, as well as police and representatives of the gas board, all attended the scene.
Police cordoned off the area and road blocks were put in place.
The man and woman were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where the man sadly passed away int he early hours of this morning (Friday). His next of kin has been informed.
The woman remains in hospital but is in a stable condition.
The family member and child were taken to hospital as a precaution but have since been discharged.
Police confirmed that an investigation is ongoing, but the death is not being treated as suspicious.
British Gas and the Health and Safety Executive will be attending the property to carry out an assessment.
