A man has been jailed for multiple theft and driving offences across Bracknell, Crowthorne, Yateley and Farnborough.
Javed Withers, 37, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to three years and six months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to 39 counts of theft from a shop, one count of making off without payment, one count of dangerous driving, one count of driving while disqualified and one count of driving without insurance at a hearing at Reading Crown court on Monday, October 28.
Between May 4 and August 7 2025, Withers stole food items valued at more than £3,500 from various retail premises.
On July 11, he was involved in a police pursuit in the South Hill area of Bracknell, driving dangerously while disqualified and uninsured.
He was arrested on august 8 and was charged the following day.
Investigating officer, PC Ryan Murphy, said: “Javed Withers has been convicted of 40 theft offences, as well as dangerous driving while disqualified and uninsured.
“The Neighbourhood Team works tirelessly alongside local businesses to safeguard our community, ensuring residents feel safe and that their property is protected. Any offending will not be tolerated in Bracknell.
“We remain committed to tackling persistent offending and maintaining a secure environment for all.”
