Wokingham town mayor Lou Timlin is lacing up her trainers and putting in the training miles ahead of the David Cliff Wokingham half marathon on February 22, where she is raising funds for her chosen charity, CLASP.
Lou is the first to admit she’s not exactly a natural runner, but she’s been training hard, to raise much-needed funds for the members at CLASP.
She stopped by to see headline and long-time event sponsor David Cliff at his Peach Street offices earlier this week.
David, who also has staff member Lewie Hastings competing in the event, said: “ It means a lot to have Lou taking part this year.
“Just to have the mayor doing an event like this,, I’ve never known it happen before..”
Lou, asked for her expected finished time, joked: “I’m just hoping to finish and be alive.
“I’ll take that.”.
