The mayor of Wokingham borough paid tribute to “two remarkable organisations” at a recent meeting of the borough’s full council.
Cllr Carol Jewell said”On behalf of the council, I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to two remarkable charities in Wokingham: Wokingham in Need and Kaleidoscope.
”Both organisations have been honoured with the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest accolade a local voluntary group can receive.
“This award, often referred to as the “MBE for volunteer groups,” is a testament to their outstanding dedication and impact.
“Wokingham in Need and Kaleidoscope demonstrate extraordinary commitment through their tireless efforts to support and uplift our community.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have so many devoted volunteers among us, all working diligently for the benefit of others.
“Their selfless contributions not only strengthen our community but also inspire us all to participate in making Wokingham a better place for everyone.”
