THE MET Office has upgraded its warning for Storm Eunice.
An amber warning is now in place for this Friday, February 18, when the storm is expected to bring gale force winds and heavy rain across Berkshire.
Gusts of up to 70mph are expected to hit by noon, with the heaviest rain forecast for the morning.
An amber weather warning means that there is an increased likelihood that there will be some disruption. This includes flying debris, fallen trees or power lines, and a potential for damage to life and property.
Drivers are encouraged to check the latest weather and travel conditions and consider delaying their journey as sudden gusts of wind can affect the handling and braking of their vehicle. Lorries, caravans and motorbikes are most at risk and have been advised to slow down.
