A tradition that sees marauding knights alongside Father Christmas wielding a sword was performed across Wokingham borough during the festive season.
Yateley Morris Men performed a traditional ‘Mummers’ play, based on texts from North Hampshire plays, in town centre pubs in Wokingham on December 22, and again on Boxing Day at The Queen’s Oak in Finchampstead.
The play is a traditional Christmas custom that dates back to the middle ages, where good triumphs over evil.
Hundreds of people in Wokingham and Finchampstead, were witness to the events that saw Santa eventually kill the evil king.
Yateley Morris Men also performed the more traditional dances at the Queen’s Oak.
